 The environmental pond project

Our school pond has been around for 3 years and students feel that it’s time for a change!
The environmental pond project started a few months ago and is running for the rest of the school year. Every Thursdays, Mr McKerrel and 20 students continue with the plan for our school’s new pond. Their intention is to have a pond with living creature which basically means that the pond would have to be clean and pure. This pond may be taken care of by the prefects if student can’t behave but the science club think that it won’t be necessary. They are planning the new pond because repairing the old pond would be too expensive. The aim is to make this pond bigger and better for students and for future use during science lesson so that students can be aware of the environment around them.

UPDATE 23/06/03

For the last few months 20 student have been working with Mr McKerrel in order to produce a new pond for our school. It took two terms to plan the pond but only a few days to build it. The area around the pond has been tidied up. We are now waiting for insects to live in it.
