Moving the artwork

A group of year 10 students from Archbishop Michael Ramsey Technology College have recently been working on a series of short animation films, based on works of art in the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
The work was part of a project sponsored by Excellence in Cities, who provided a local artist Mr David Latter to work with the group. He helped the students whilst they researched and prepared their animations, and then shot them.
All of the filming for the project was done at the Southwark Community Learning Centre who also provided the equipment and technical expertise.
The students used digital video cameras to grab pictures, moving elements of their pictures every ten frames to achieve the illusion of movement in the finished short films.
Usinf storyboards and scrips prepared during earlier sessions students then edited their work down and added voice overs to the finished films.
An example of one of the final animations is included just click on Animation sampler to your left. link to animation page
