BARA is a membership organisation funded by a grant from Southwark Council's Housing Department. We aim to foster the community spirit and equal opportunities in the area by involving local people in educational and social events, and campaigns. We promote the exercise of resident's and tenant's rights and the maintenance and improvement of their housing conditions, amenities and environment. We represent the interests of residents and tenants in consultation with Southwark Council and other bodies. We promote the harmonious functioning of a multi-racial community and work towards the elimination of all forms of racism and discrimination within it. |
