PECKHAM POWER
Peckham Power is a volunteer-led community energy project for all in Peckham and Nunhead. We're delighted to announce that we are one of 30 groups to be awarded feasibility study funding by the Big Lottery to prepare a bid for a 5 year project to help local people "live and work sustainably". For the feasibility study, our lead partner is the Peckham Settlement.
The 5 year project has to: make a real difference to the lives of the most disadvantaged communities, develop viable revenue streams so that the project can be self-supporting at the end of 5 years, and bring all the community together. 10 communities in England will be selected to receive up to £1 million each for their 5 year projects.
As part of our work on this exciting and challenging bid, we're very keen to meet with members of the local community to hear their ideas. Events already confirmed are:
Sat 5 May 10am to 12noon - tea, cake and chat - Bells Gardens TRA Hall, Bulmer Close, Peckham Weds 16 May 7-9pm - Films by first-time film makers - clf cafe, Bussey Building, Rye Lane, Peckham Sun 20 May 11am-5pm - Peckham Green Homes Showcase. Various locations around Peckham (map not yet publicised) Mon 21 May 11am-3pm - Information Session - Peckham Library Tues 22 May 7-9pm - Ask the repair doctor (advice on small domestic items, no electrical or electronic repairs please) - Bells Gardens TRA Hall, Bulmer Close, Peckham Sat 2 June 11am-1pm - Ask the repair doctor (as above) - clf cafe, Bussey Building, Rye Lane, Peckham
