Filmmaker Nicola Woodham joins Southwark.TV
Southwark.TV and filmmaker Nicola Woodham have joined forces through a scheme to include individuals in the partnership base.
Nicola Woodham makes short films and installations. Ideas about place inform the content of her work. This carries over to where the work is exhibited. She is interested in finding new ways to present and has a track record of making site specific installations.
In the past she has been intrigued by the belief that places can evoke and also retain memories.
NOT YET REMEMBERED She is now developing this theme in a film piece generated by research and experience of Southwark site – Nunhead Cemetery in Linden Grove, Nunhead. Consecrated in 1840, the cemetery is visually and historically rich, and a site of natural beauty. Much of this is due to the work of voluntary conservation group Friends of Nunhead Cemetery - www.fonc.org.uk
An excerpt from this film is now on the CTVT videos page of the Southwark.TV website and the film itself was screened at InSpire in The Crypt at St Peter's, Walworth as part of the series of Southwark.TV Screenings in mid December 2005.
The film which was received with enthusiasm is graced by a sensitive, wordless, musical soundtrack by Canadian composer Mark Piron.
Nicola Woodham also works as an editor of dramas and documentaries, and community projects in London.
